This workshop is a six-session online workshop that is presented as part of North Tier's professional development program. The workshop focuses on the basics of GPS and explores how to integrate the technology and concepts in the classroom. Each session will last one week, and will begin on a Monday and end on a Sunday. During each session, you will be asked to complete a Read & Explore assignment, an activity, and participate in the online discussion.
This six-session online course will acquaint teachers and administrators with the knowledge and skills to successfully implement students bringing their own devices/technology into the classroom. The course focuses on helping teachers understand the background and policies associated with BYOT/D and then how to tap into the power of students having devices in their hands. The course will spend the majority of time on learning management and instructional strategies for classrooms.
Throughout this online course, participants will explore numerous examples of BYOT/D applications and how they can be used to communicate, engage students, enhance learning and gather data to inform instruction. By the end of the workshop, participants will have gained hands-on experience with these applications and developed an implementation plan for their own classrooms.
